12-28-2008 in Zhengzhou
The body has a way of resisting change. I woke up every hour or so and struggled to sleep until our 6:00 goal. We ate a good breakfast and met up with two other families for our flight to Zhengzhou. The flight was on time and uneventful. still no baggage yet, but we are hopeful for tomorrow. The visibility is poor, maybe 2 miles at best and the haze from the pollution even filled the hallways of the airports. Otherwise both cities we have been to have been very clean. The people continue to be polite and kind. There have been a couple of beggars that were a bit aggressive, but gave up shortly as we walked on. We will meet with our group at 9:30 tomorrow for a short walk down the street to pick up our children. Nine more days of waiting and bonding in Zhengzhou, then we will fly to Guangzhou. I'll let Megan describe the Lotus Center that we shopped at tonight. Megan just said she was too tired to write tonight, but to tell Kathy we will Skype her and the girls tomorrow when we get back to the room, should be after 8:30 PM your time. Miss you guys.

Joseph Brian Zi Nian Lockwood
We found our son on the website at our adoption agency, Chinese Children Adoption International on July 11, 2008. His birthday is 2-21-07. Joseph currently lives in Luoyang. His name is a mouth full, but we really wanted to keep his Chinese name and his daddy wanted him to have his name also. We feel incredibly privileged to be able to have him as a part of our family.

Glad to see everything's going OK.Hope you get your luggage before your departure back to the States. We really enjoyed having the girls. We had a lot of fun. Back @ work today and hope to hear from you soon. Kisses to Joseph and Isaac. We love and miss you all.Be safe. Mom and Jay.
I am so excited for you! Joseph was so sweet when we met him in November. If you get a chance to go to the orphanage, have your guide take you to the recreated old city gate and has a block of stores that looks like they are hundreds of years old. It is a replica of the original, and is fascinating. Right after you pass under the gate, to your left is a store which carries the official tri-colored pottery that Luoyang is famous for. The prices are incredibly low,and the quality is high. No bargaining - but you won't need to. We got some beautiful souvenirs there. Can't wait to see pictures of Joseph! Nanci
I am so happy that you guys are there and settled. I cannot wait for the update with pictures!!! Please tell Heather we said hello. The Yahoo group needs a photo of both of you and your new little ones :)
